What about implementing a system that send email to sys admin when a rule is violated. For example: when a user try to guess a password and the maximum login attempts is exceeded an email is sent to sys admin.

As an alternative could you suggest a way to accomplish this?

Including it in the webserver self doesn't sounds like a good idea. But having an external tool which scans the logfiles for error messages might be a nice feature. I will give it some thought. Thanks for the idea!
