Hiawatha version: 8.8
Operating System: Lucid Puppy Linux 5.2.8.005

Hello Hugo, Nice Server first of all. I stumbled on to its abilities around version 6. This is the first time really taking Hiawatha for a spin though. I have Hiawatha 8.8 configured to run PHP 5.4.7 and MySql 5.5.27, works smoothly and so far got WordPress 3.5.1 and Oscommerce 2.3.3 to run well with WordPress hanging a bit on some updates. I have been testing it with a DynDns alias as a live server, so far outstanding performance. I need some help with the Virtual Host. When Hiawatha is only amiable in a local network example: htttp://192.168.0.11/htdocs/wordpress, how do I define the sub-directories in the Virtual Host? I would like to get a Gallery 3 install to run and need the Kohana rewrite to work . I am using your manual and how to, just some re-enforcement. right now I seem to have all requests going to the default website. Thanks again

That's not possible. For a local network, there are three options:

  • Use a local DNS and add hostnames in there.
  • Add hostnames in the hosts file on your system.
  • Use the Alias option if you don't want all websites in one directory.

Thanks for the pointers. I have been trying different methods. I have not had much success with the Alias option so far. my PATHS are so: http://192.168.0.11/htdocs/wordpress or http://192.168.0.11/oscommerce, each directory being the website. I would like to define ToolKit URL re-writes.Gallery 3 seems to be very Apache specific, that looks like why it runs very strangely. But perhaps with the proper ToolKit rules I may be able to get a version running on Hiawatha. Thanks again for the response.
