I am considering using SSL on my website but only at login time (login for a secret area) to protect email and passwords users and then, after a successful login, restore a normal http session without encryption.

What solutions are there? Any ideas?

Whether a website uses SSL for it's next page or not depends on the URL's inside the current webpage. It's not something a webserver can do. So, you have to change your website to make that happen.
