Hi

I had LOTS of trouble with apache2/mysql/hiawatha/sublime tex editor/gedit as text editor and pointing to webroot AND the PHP with Hiawatha just DID'NT want to work. . .

In my ignorance I sarted ' rm -rf ' all those offending packages . . . including DPKG (I know . . noob ignorance)

I search google and forums HIGH and LOW since yesterday - but no luck !!

I KNOW this is not the place for it - but I was HOPING you could give me some advice or even just guide me to a forum where I can fihure out what to do!!

This is my error message:

HP-EliteBook-2560p ~ # apt-get install dpkg
Reading package lists... Error!
E: Could not open file /var/lib/dpkg/status - open (2: No such file or directory)
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

the apt just dont want to work. I have downloaded and run dpkg_1.17.5ubuntu5.2.tar.xz but still no luck.

ANY indication as to how i can start fixing this will be appreciated.

AND . . . of course the PHP with Hiawatha eg hello.php just dont want to run although hello.html works perfect.

Hiawatha version: hiawatha-9.5
Operating System: Linux Mint 16 - Petra 64 bit
