How to generate bad request to test BanOnGarbage setting on hiawatha?

Use 'telnet <hostname> 80', enter random charaters and hit [enter] two times. This will result in a disconnect.
Use the telnet command again. If it returns to the shell prompt immediately, you have been banned. If the telnet prompt appears, you have not.
