browser caching and external resources

Hello,

I'm using Hiawatha behind reverse-proxy (nginx) on semi-shared (Webfqction) hosting and nginx/Hiawatha outperforms nginx/Apache2 when using testing sites like Pingdom & GTmetrix...

In the 'leverage browser caching' section at the https://tools.pingdom.com, the site reportd e.g. to use 1 week cache for the following https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Montserrat:400|Raleway:300,400,600|Inconsolata, but I wonder what can be done in such case considering that the resource is an external one while
Path
in
Directory
directive is
...relative to the document root of a website.
?

The request will never reach your server since the browser will request the files directly from Google. The best you could do is download and host the resource yourself so you can control the caching options.

Yeah, this is a good solution...I completely forgot about it.
