symlinking WebRoot

I have a friend who uses a bunch of symlinks in his WebRoot ( he uses Apache) to various directories in $HOME. Is there any problem doing the same thing with Hiawatha? Any downside at all? TIA...

No. But, if you want Hiawatha to follow symlinks, use "FollowSymlinks = yes".
