Hiawatha version: 7.4
Operating System: Ubuntu 10.10 Server
What does Hiawatha react when it is under DoS? I have tested my Hiawatha webserver with Siege and it seems almost free from the attack under my limited resources. I would like to know how Hiawatha react under such situation.
Thanks.

Hiawatha has a banning option. This means that Hiawatha disconnects a client that has been banned immediately after connecting. This saves a lot of resources. If you configure Hiawatha to ban DoS-ing clients, it will handle a DoS attack much better then other webservers. How much better? I have no idea. You should test it.

What is the option for the banning DoS-ing clients in the configuration file?
Thanks.

You should take a look at the following configuration options: BanOnFlooding, BanOnGarbage, BanOnMaxPerIP and BanOnMaxRequestSize. It's up to you to decide what the optimal values are.
