php output is stripped

Hi,
I enabled php5 via cgi and observed that the output from a php file delivered to the web browser misses the first few lines, e.h. doctype definition html and head tags. I enabled the rfc compliant headers in php.ini.
Any ideas?

Hiawatha does not strip any output. I have no idea why lines are missing in your output.
