the maintainer does not respond to my emails. what can we do?

If you have the right FreeBSD skills, update the port and send it to them (via send-pr).

I got the email from maintainer . He writes:

Thanks a lot for your mail :-) I have already submitted the update quite
a while ago. See the Problem Report:

As soon as my mentor will have time, the port will be updated.
