I was interviewed by Aaron Newcomb of the FLOSS Weekly show. We talked about many aspects of webserver technology, like SSL/TLS and Let's Encrypt, HTTP/2 and performance.

I don't understand why they made such a big issue about hiawatha been GPL v2. They should also ask Linus why he keeps using GPL v2 for the kernel... It seems there's now this trend to push developers to use MIT like licenses which basically doesn't offer any protection just your name as a developer. Anyways, it was nice to see you sharing some words about Hiawatha, keep going strong! A lot of people still needs to understand why hiawatha is better than most alternatives, but it seems many are too lazy to read this site and compare

MIT and similar allow easier licensing for embedded devices, appliances, etc. GPL v2/v3 has its own set of intentions, that's why both sets of licenses exist in parallel.

That said, Simon Phipps even pronounced my name correctly. This is a rare occasion.

For now, I'm seriously considering GPL3 for Hiawatha v11.

If you prefer GPLv2, you can actually license it as "GPLv2 or later" which means if anybody wants to use it under the terms of the GPLv3 (if it's a better fit for their purposes), they may.

Thoroughly enjoyed getting your thoughts.

Though it may not work within your security 'world view,' if you built in a "phone home" opt in that reported the number of users, I would be happy to share that information with you.

Further, if you had consulting services or other revenue generation sources (Patreon, affiliate stuff, etc) I would take part.
